What we want in New Ipad is missing

Apple's new iPad launch largely got a thumbs up from the reviewers and analysts. While most agree that the new iPad offers incremental jump over its predecessor iPad 2 in terms of features, they believe it is sufficient enough to allow the company to maintain its competitive advantage in the tablet market.

However, its biggest and strongest emerging rival in the tablet and smartphone space, Samsung doesn't seem to agree. The Korean giant, which is also embroiled in a bitter patent dispute with Apple across continents, reportedly finds Apple's new iPad lacking in several features.

There are reports that after Apple's iPad launch event, Samsung emailed some international media websites a grid which compares its recently-unveiled tablet Galaxy Note 10.1 to the new iPad. The grid highlights the features missing in Apple's new iPad vs Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

Here, are the 11 features which Samsung claims are missing in the new iPad vis-a-vis Galaxy Note 10.1

Samsung claims that Galaxy Note 10.1 allows users to view two apps at the same time, while new iPad doesn't.

Similarly, Galaxy Note 10.1 users can work on two apps side by side. A feature missing in the new iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is optimised for precision writing/drawing. According to Samsung, Screen/Pen is 10x more accurate -- with 255 levels of pressure sensivity -- than a normal capacitive screens.

According to the company, the new iPad's capacitive screen only recognises one level of pressure sensivity.

With Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, users can write as you would with pen/pencil and paper.

According to Samsung, Galaxy Note 10.1 stylus can identify 255 different levels of pressure. While iPad's capacitive screen only recognises one level of pressure sensitivity, claims Samsung.

Samsung claims absolute precision in photo and image editing in Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1.

According to the company, pressure sensitivity and precision S-Pen works with optimised editing apps. While there is no such support in iPad.

With Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 users can take notes in one app while viewing content in another app.

Samsung claims something not possible in new iPad, unless one uses actual pen and paper.

Another feature boasted of in Samsung's email is that Galaxy Note 10.1 allows users to cut and paste content between two apps side by side, unlike the new iPad.

Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 is lighter and thinner than the new iPad.

Galaxy Note weighs 585gm against the new iPad's 653gm, and is 8.9mm thick versus 9.4mm thickness of the new iPad.

Uers can expand storage of Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 up to 32GB through microSD card. There is no such option in iPad.

For those who still like to work with the good old mouse, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 allows attaching a mouse with a USB 2.0 host.

Last but not the least, users can control home theater equipment with integrated IR port in Galaxy Note 10.1 claims Samsung.
